Welcome to Capable Kids
Alyson is an owner and Occupational Therapist at Capable Kids. She completed her undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation Science and her Masters of Occupational Therapy at the University of Pittsburgh. In 2008 she returned to school and completed her Juris Doctorate, with a Post-Graduate Certificate in Health Law, from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Alyson has practiced in various settings, including schools, early intervention, outpatient pediatrics and acute care and long term rehabilitation care at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh and the Children's Home of Pittsburgh and Lemieux Family Center. She is an associate professor at the University of Pittsburgh's Doctor of Occupational Therapy and affiliated health law faculty for the Center for Bioethics and Health Law University of Pittsburgh. Alyson serves as the President of occupational therapy's national board, AOTA. Alyson's expertise includes the holistic approach to pediatric and family evaluation and intervention, trauma-informed occupational therapy and occupation-based approaches to substance use disorder. She is trained and certified in Therapeutic Listening, Interactive Metronome, and Mental Health First Aid, as well as splinting and taping protocols. Along with working with children, Alyson provides non-lawyer advocacy for children and families who need assistance accessing resources. As a published author, nationally grant-funded research investigator, and subject-matter expert, Alyson provides continuing education for healthcare practitioners, educators, first responders, and the community. Alyson is committed to working closely with families and our community to increase the health and wellness in Mercer County.
Alyssa is a Pennsylvania licensed Occupational Therapist at Capable Kids. She completed her undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology at Slippery Rock University and her Masters of Occupational Therapy at Misericordia University. Alyssa practices pediatric OT in the outpatient and school setting. She also serves as a part-time instructor at Penn State Shenango’s Associate in Science in Occupational Therapy Program. Alyssa is an annual attendee of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA) national conference where she actively seeks out continuing education and collaboration with other practitioners. Alyssa loves working with all clients, but her favorite clients are children who are receiving therapy for the first time so she can start them on their journey and help them grow. She works hard to collaborate with client’s family members, teachers, and other service providers to provide support in all settings. When Alyssa is not at work she enjoys playing with her dog, running, and spending time with family and friends.

Annie’s time with Capable Kids began in 2019 as a field work student of Miss Alyssa’s! Annie primarily practices within the schools, and works with students from kindergarten through high school. Annie enjoys collaborating with parents/families, teachers, and other providers to ensure a holistic and team approach is used to help her kiddos reach their full potential! Outside of work, Annie enjoys spending time outside with her husband and dog Rudy, volunteering at her church, and spending time with family and friends.

Megan has been practicing Occupational Therapy since 2017 and has been a team member at Capable Kids since, 2018. Megan has Bachelors in Psychology and Neuroscience from Allegheny College. Megan then pursued an Associate’s Degree of Occupational Therapy Assistant at Community College of Allegheny County. Megan treats both outpatient and school-based children. She enjoys working with a variety of different types of clients. Megan specializes in working with children who have experienced trauma. She presented a course at the AOTA 2020 Virtual Conference series with Alyson Stover entitled: "Trauma Informed OT: Transforming ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) into Smiling Faces". Camille is a 2020 graduate from Penn State Shenango’s Occupational Therapy Assistant Program. Camille loves working with children because of the fun and creativity it allows while working towards growing their independence. Outside of work, Camille loves to cook and bake, enjoy time outside, and spend time with her family, friends, and cat.

She currently treats children of all ages with the primary goal of improving the quality of life of the children and their families. Capable Kids has given her the opportunity and experience to work in the public school system, PA cyberschool, and in an outpatient setting. JoLena is continuing to pursue her Masters degree in Occupational Therapy and outside of work, enjoys spending time with her husband and two daughters.

Jenna is a Pennsylvania licensed Physical Therapist who received her B.S. in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University. Jenna is a Pennsylvania licensed Physical Therapist who received her B.S. in Human Ecology from The Ohio State University. She then completed her professional training at Wheeling Jesuit University where she earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. She is a Certified Exercise Physiologist through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and also has experience in Total Motion Release (TMR) for Tots and Teens. Jenna has more than eight years of clinical experience in pediatrics spanning school, early intervention, and outpatient settings. Her favorite focus area is torticollis, as she has previously worked on establishing a Cranial Asymmetry Repositioning Evaluation (CARE) clinic alongside an orthotist to treat infants with plagiocephaly and torticollis. In her spare time, Jenna enjoys exploring the outdoors, baking, and reading. As a military spouse, she relocated to the area to raise her children around family after being away for many years.

She loves to see their progress while having fun. Reporting their improvements to their loved ones is very rewarding for her. Miss Chelsea is married to her high school sweetheart, they now have 5 children and 2 dogs. She enjoys spending time with her family when she isn’t working at Capable Kids. .
